Privacy policy
What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to ask us to delete it. In plain words.
[PLACEHOLDER] Draft for the demo only. This text is a plain-language starting point, not legal advice. It must be reviewed by a qualified lawyer (US and India) before the site launches.
What we collect
Your name, email and password (stored securely by our login provider).
Your intake answers: what's on your mind, languages, background, preferences and availability. One question asks about thoughts of self-harm, so we can look after you.
Your approximate country, worked out from your internet connection or your device's time zone (never your exact location). We use it to show the right crisis lines and to show and charge prices in your currency. You can change it at the bottom of any page.
Booking and payment details. Card numbers are handled by Stripe; we never see or store them.
Why we collect it
Only to match you with the right counsellor, arrange your sessions, and keep you safe. We don't use your answers for advertising.
Who can see it
Our founder, and the counsellors we match you with. Our technology providers (Supabase for our database, Stripe for payments, Resend for emails, Cal.com for scheduling) process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
We never sell your data, and we never share it with your family or employer without your permission.
When we might share without asking
If we believe someone's life is in immediate danger, or if the law requires it. We'd always try to talk to you first.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account, plus any period the law requires for payment records. [PLACEHOLDER] retention periods
Your choices
You can see, correct, download or delete your data at any time by writing to us from the Support page. If you're in the EU/UK or California you have additional rights, which we respect wherever you live.
